night two;
[That...sure happened.
Honestly, despite how violent and awful Wonderland can be, Alice? still isn't used to it. It's something that bothers him immensely, and he can feel it now too--
That execution was horrible.
He staggers his way out of that room somehow, though when he ends up getting a little ways away from the crowd...he just slumps against the wall and covers his face with a hand, sighing shakily.
This was not how anything was supposed to be--this is awful, and he isn't sure he can cope with something like this.
(He's looking pretty pathetic right now.)]

sure, there's a good chance diva would have been executed anyway, because there had been a lot of eyes on her—but alvin didn't want to execute and innocent, and he sure as hell didn't want another innocent getting blood on their hands—assuming sakyou was, but right now isn't about suspicions.
he'd tried to do the right thing.
and the right thing still got an innocent person killed, and he knows there's probably a laundry list of people in that room who may just vote him dead out of spite for encouraging to abstain when that ended up being the result. so of course, at the first given opportunity he saw, alvin's slipped out of the room and leaned against the first wall that wasn't in obvious sight. always running away when he's the problem—maybe some aspects of a person just don't change.
which means he notices when alice? makes his own exit, and he's not sure whether or not to approach. but really the good guy in him gives in—so he'll take a few silent steps to lean against the wall next to alice?]
You think you can handle a drink, kid? [that is, if alice? even wants to give him the time of day right now. alvin triggered something really shitty, and he knows it.]
no subject
[He blinks, not having expected to be approached--and then he looks up, and realizes that it's Alvin, and...
He hesitates again, but it's more because he's not sure he wants any company right now than anything. He doesn't even think about Alvin having played a role in this; they all made their choices...and that was what happened.]
Oh... yeah, sure.
[BRING ON THE DRINKS]

[even just from the dazed response he gives, alvin's pretty sure that alice? is shaken by the whole ordeal. things like kidnappings and false blame is in a whole different ballpark than watching an innocent person get executed—especially with the circumstances that spurred it on.]
...I know I sure as hell can right now. [who feels like a self-loathing piece of shit right now? alvin does, surprise surprise!]
no subject
Still... he blinks at that, brow furrowing a little.]
...You okay? [Alvin sure doesn't look so good either!!]
no subject
Kinda hard to feel good about sentencing an innocent person to die like that.
[in the end, he wasn't alone in the blame, and he has no idea if not abstaining would have changed a damn thing, but—well, it feels shitty anyway.
either way, there'll be time to talk about it over drinks, so alvin pushes himself off the wall, waiting for alice? to follow suit.]
no subject
[He frowns a little, though he follows quickly enough. Alvin, wait up, your self-hate issues need addressing!!]
We all... voted not to do that. It's just...
It just went wrong. That's all.
no subject
[is anyone really ever ready to deal with alvin's issues, though?]
Whoever killed that kid is still around, too. Got away with it clean while someone else had take the fall. [he'd probably feel less guilty about it if he hadn't been the one pushing to abstain, but whatever.]
We'll really have to be on our toes now.
no subject
[Honestly, he thinks it's terrifying while also being totally aggravated and angry that someone murdered a kid.
Motherfuckers.]
But we'll find that shithead eventually. They can't hide forever.
no subject
[as they make it to the bar, where alvin's not going to hesitate to order a couple of strong drinks for them both, because fuck this noise.]
no subject
... It's not like it's gonna be easy when we don't even know who the killers are.
no subject
If we stay on our toes, someone will show themselves... most people can't keep up that kind of charade too long, especially not in close quarters like this.
no subject
And pay attention to everyone.
[A beat, and...]
Maybe...it'd be better if we both watched them. So--maybe you can tell me who you think's suspicious and I'll do the same thing and then we can both watch 'em and maybe we'll figure it out better. Two sets of eyes is better than one, right?
no subject
It's tough to say who's suspicious by name yet, so we'll have to keep a close eye. A few people were a little too quiet though, and the first ones to try and pin blame may be worth keeping an eye on too.
[funny, how the most suspicious one in the room most of the time is now the one pointing out signs for how to spot people just like him.
what a weird situation.]
Anyone in particular stick out to you?
no subject
Alice? is more useless, though, so don't expect much of him.]
Uh...
I guess-- Leo's kind of weird? [No, Alice? just doesn't like him because he's mean to him.]
I dunno. I'm not very good at this, honestly. [He's too straightforward.]
no subject
[he's kind of interested to see who would make that list for alice? honestly. leo aside, though he does make note of it.]
And you know, I'll tell you too, of course. A deal's a deal.
no subject
[He means that mostly facetiously because Alice? can't be threatening in any way, shape or form.]
no subject
[it's less because he finds alice? threatening and more because he actually is trying to build some semblance of trust here.]
